Bay Street Boot Camp

Bay Street Boot Camp is a financial literacy course and entrepreneurial challenge that brings 50 high school students to the heart of the financial district in downtown Toronto in the summer. This five-day program exposes students to a variety subjects including basic finance and personal money management, bullying, stress management, and developing a professional personal brand. Throughout the week, students work on their business plans, culminating on "Pitch Day", the last day of Camp.

The final day of Bay Street Boot Camp begins with a trade show where the student groups pitch their ideas to business executives serving as judges or “Mega Minds”. The Mega Minds selected the businesses they would invest in, determining who would advance to the final round. The top groups then pitch their business ideas to a panel of experts and the audience made up of their peers, parents and guests.

Students have travelled from across the GTA, Ottawa, Rama First Nation, Wikwemikong Reserve, and Iqaluit, Nunavut, to attend Boot Camp.

Students must submit an application to be considered for the program. There are no fees associated with the program itself, but students must arrange for their own transportation and accommodation.

This year's Boot Camp will take place in August! Applications for Boot Camp 2017 will be available in Spring 2017. Contact us for more info.

At TD Bank, we know that today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders. Boot Camp sets students off on the right foot by getting them thinking about their goals for the year ahead and beyond.

Boot Camp 2015 Speakers

I had no idea what to expect at Bay Street Boot Camp because everyday there were new and more exciting surprises. It was definitely an unforgettable experience, especially meeting new people, learning things you wouldn’t normally learn at school and being given special opportunities that no other conference can provide. I really loved the business pitch competition because I was able to take so much away from it.
